Who is Thomas Weir?
He signed the back cover photo of Anthem of the Sun (if memory serves)

Haha! I looked at "Bill Weir?" posted above and it didn't register...

All those dead names sound the same!

(wink wink)

So, I take it Tom Weir, and Bob, his bro, are somehow related to the famous photographer/mtn climber, Thomas Weir of Scottland? Rob?

Well, Tell, I really don't know. My grandfather was called Bob Weir but I wouldn't on that basis claim kinship to the esteemed Atherton Weir (and as Bob was adopted, is Weir his adoptive name rather than indicating a biological connection to the Weirs? - I'm not clear about that).

Anyway - here's a fun Weir website where the guy states categorically from the get go that he's no relation to our Bob.

Apologies to 'user' Bill for duplicating the Weir, Bill link - I neglected to look back up the thread before responding to WT.

Ha! Good one--that site!...realized there must be a crap load. And you really did have a BW in your past? Closet perhaps? Or no...until recently maybe...sorry, making no sense.

I just happened to goggle for CPW and found The T Weir and realized he wasn't the one though he came up under photographer, and Tom, Bob's bro, comes up under those that like to take those circular pics (like anthem and aox).

So, you are keeping a close eye on postings? Good to know I can call out and you'll be there...

If the sky above you
should turn dark and full of clouds
and that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?

alternatively:

Oh If you feel downhearted
You must remember this
Things never are as bad as they could be
When friends have all departed
There's one you'll never miss
I'll be right with you
You can count on me

You can count on me
You can count on me

As the adding machine once said
You can count on me

Yes indeed my maternal grandfather was one Robert Weir, and a very fine fellow he was too.
